How to use a quote in UPSC and State PCS Mains

  1. Open an answer with a quote that states the core value in the question (for example, integrity or compassion in GS4).
  2. Conclude with a forward-looking quote that ties the answer back to the Constitution or public service.
  3. In the Essay, use one quote in the introduction, one or two in the body to support an argument, and one in the conclusion. Never stack quotes.
  4. Write it exactly and name the thinker. A wrong attribution costs more than no quote at all.
  5. In case studies, a short quote can justify the option you choose, after you have reasoned it out.

Frequently asked questions

Are these quotes genuine?

Yes. Each quote is taken from a sourced entry, with the book, speech or letter shown under the author where available. Popular quotes that are disputed or misattributed (for example, "Be the change you wish to see in the world" credited to Gandhi) are deliberately left out.

Can I use them for State PCS exams?

Yes. UPPSC, BPSC, MPPSC, RPSC and other PCS Mains papers share the same Essay, ethics and general studies themes, so every use case applies to them.

How many quotes should I memorise?

Around 8 to 10 per major GS4 theme and 20 to 30 versatile essay quotes is plenty. Save your picks with the ♡ button; they stay in your browser.

Is it free?

Yes. No sign-up, no login. Your saved quotes are stored only on your device.
